Welcome! 

I am Evelyn Oliveira, a certified Speech-Language Pathologist, licensed by the state of Maryland, and the founder of Elevator Speech LLC. 

You might wonder where the name of my practice comes from. In the business world, an "elevator speech" is a quick, impactful way to share your mission. But in my world, the meaning is much closer to my heart. Early in my career, some of my youngest students found my last name a little tricky to pronounce. For weeks, they playfully called me "Ms. Alligator," "Ms. Aloe Vera," and - my personal favorite - "Ms. Elevator." I loved the nickname so much that it stuck. 

For over eight years, I have provided speech therapy services for children ages  3 to 11 at a public school in Montgomery County, Maryland. I received my bachelor's degree in English and Portuguese from the Universidade de São Paulo (Brazil), and my master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Maryland. As a native speaker of Portuguese who is also fluent in Spanish, I have a passion for language(s), communication, and helping others have a voice. In my free time, I enjoy immersing myself in language learning and culture, singing in a choir, hiking, and visiting museums.
